| 5th January, London: UM London has raised £10,996.28 for Marie Curie in 2016, a charity providing care and support for people living with terminal illness, and their families.
Throughout the year the UM London team have taken part in various activities to raise money for the charity. This included 22 people participating in the sponsored Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, two rounds of the UM Bake Off and collections during both the Great Daffodil Appeal and Christmas Collections.
This record figure was achieved alongside ongoing media planning and buying work for the charity. A notable example of this was the ‘Extra Hour’ campaign in October. UM worked with Rapport to source donated ad space to support and raise awareness of the Marie Curie nurses working the extra hour as the clocks went back. This included city billboards across the UK, including the iconic Piccadilly One billboard, which turned yellow for the event.
